Board of Directors meeting minutes - No Quorum
June 11, 2008
Informal meeting opened at 2:10 pm by George Bradt (President) at Bridgton Library in the downstairs conference room. (there was not a quorum)
Attendance: George Bradt, Karen Hawkins, Joanne Morse, Lily Turner
Absent members: Alan Crabtree, Dona Forke, Henry Hamilton, Mike McClellan, DanaBeth Wells-Goodwin
Attending Gathering members: Nancylou Stiles (Coordinator), Mody Botros, Mario & Daisy Alcaino
*Nancylou asked that it be recorded in the minutes outstanding bills are: Nancylou for refreshments, George for the Post Office box, Karen for the website domain name registration
*BOD insurance was discussed, concerns were brought to the table as to some members home owner’s insurance would not cover an claim and also their insurance might be cancelled if the CCC did not have insurance to cover any potential claims, George spoke to Chalmer’s insurance and their minimum cost to write a policy is $750.
*4Th of July parade participation was brought up by Mody – Nancylou said we can’t do that because we don’t have insurance yet
*Nancylou expressed the need to not hold any more meetings until we have insurance because of liability issues
*it was mentioned that the school would have insurance to cover the event but the issue that BOD members can still be sued as individuals was again brought up
*George will contact several companies to get prices for insurance to alleviate this situation concerning insurance risks
*Nancylou will notify the Gathering members about the change of date of the event and that the June and August meetings will be cancelled because of no insurance
*George told us he made contact with the Friends of the Arts and Marian Rabe and John Mayo will be sending requested paperwork to him soon after school is over for this year
*George requested that Nancylou proceed with the June 21 Gathering date to see if people are interested in participating in the July 4th parade, he will get insurance for the CCC before this date so the concerns expressed by some BOD members are alleviated
*discussion about a street address for certain deliveries resulted in a decision to ask if the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce address could be used
*Mody was asked to head up the group of people interested in preparing for the July 4th parade, if we are able to participate
