Board of Directors meeting minutes
August 11, 2008
Meeting opened at 9:20 am by George Bradt (President) at Bridgton Library in the downstairs conference room.
Attendance: George Bradt, Alan Crabtree, Dona Forke, Karen Hawkins, Joanne Morse Charles Renneker (new Board member – voted in at today’s meeting)
Attending CCC event interested members: Mody Botros (Coordinator)
*Mike McClellan submitted his resignation due to the need to reduce his work load.
*Alan brought the revised copy of the By-Laws, they were reviewed and after a short discussion Joanne moved they be accepted, Karen seconded the motion, the motion passed unanimously
*Karen will send list of BOD email addresses to Chuck
*George sent a letter thanking Mike for his help while on the Board
*Mody will make a template for CCC stationery
*Discussion about the CCC being a sponsor in future upcoming local events for publicity
*Mody requested the EIN number from the Friends of the Arts (we are presently under their 501c3 umbrella) so he may canvass for donations for the CCC, George will get that info
*Chuck will prepare a budget
*Karen will speak to Woody about the CCC checkbook situation
*Mody was asked to set dates for event planning meetings
*George asked each member to think of potential candidates to ask to join the Board
*It was suggested posters be made with info about the CCC for PR
*Fundraising ideas will be discussed at the next meeting
*Chuck asked for clarification about money – “is the CCC event a fundraiser?” Answer: “No” but donation jars are strategically placed during the event
*Joanne asked for a list of cultures invited (and accepted) for the upcoming event
*Chuck reiterated we bring ideas for raising money (fundraising) to the next meeting
*Mody will bring coffee and doughnuts to the next meeting
Next meeting Sept 3, 2008 at 9:00 am at the Bridgton Library in the downstairs conference room.
